2009 Updates

Here are some updates:

Rie and I are both well into the semester. Rie is in her second semester of graduate school, and she's currently taking classes in Second Language Acquisition, Curriculum Development, and a teaching practicum at the BYU English Language Center. In addition to her school work, Rie is also teaching at the Provo Missionary Training Center. Rie was also recently called to be the second counselor in the Relief Society.

I am in my fourth year at BYU. I'm taking a heavy load of classes this semester--Economics of Strategy, Intro to Strategy, Financial Mathematics, Natural Resources and Environmental Economics, Civilizations 2, and a research class in Algorithmic Design Processes. While the classes have been very interesting, the workload has been rather demanding. Coupled with my responsibilites as a research assistant, a ward clerk, and a temple ordinance worker, Rie and I have little time left for recreation and fun. However, we were able to celebrate Chinese New Year with our friends and extended family here in Provo, Utah.
